"I Have An Urgent Trip To Disneyworld!"
Sitting at counter 16 today I overheard someone say "I Have An Urgent Trip to Disneyworld!" and it made me laugh...how could anyone have such an emergency that would require them to get to the nearest Disney theme park immediately...and then it occurred to me that I might also have the need for an "Urgent Trip to Disneyword"...metaphorically speaking, perhaps...but I feel like I could use a vacation in the sun somewhere with a bunch of friendly animated animals...
btw, kudos to you Yair for escaping to your own island in the sun - see you when you get back...

WINE

with Demetri Martin
it's true, everyone is into wine these days...atleast all of the interesting youths, oops, I mean men, that I hang out with...and it's also true that wine doesn't make you pee as much as beer, it's a scientific fact...and one more thing, vegans are annoying ; )

The World According to Gwyneth...
So, anyone who knows me knows that if I could be anyone else in the whole world it would be Gwyneth Paltrow. She's got it all; she's beautiful, she's got an Oscar, she's got a Chris Martin, what else could a girl want?...so, here is the first of what may (or may not) be a new ongoing series on this blog - "The World According to Gwyneth."
Gwyneth on Beauty
I found this card and I just had to buy it for myself. Mainly to reassure myself that the Clinique's "Black Honey," lipstick that I have been wearing since she suggested it a magazine a while ago was still an excellent choice.
This month Gywneth was featured in Harper's Bazaar magazine. In the interview she is asked "What are her beauty secrets?
"Drink tons of water, and wear sunscreen. And I really do think that if you eat fresh, organic, good food, you look like it."
As for her flowing locks, Paltrow chalks it up to vitamins. "Take New Chapter Organics' Perfect Prenatal. It doesn't matter if you are pregnant, I swear to God," she says. "I have double-processed blond hair, and it's so long and not damaged. Those vitamins, they are the trick."

Of course, I paid very careful attention to this statement as Gwyneth does has hair to die for. I was surprised to hear that it's double-processed, as that doesn't sound like a truly "organic" procedure. But we girls do what we must. I've also noticed on my own that the breeders that I come in contact with tend to have luxurious hair. I always thought it was because of the hormones that pregnant women have in abundance - but maybe Gywnnie is on to something.
So, I did a little research and it turns out that there may be some concern about the amount of Iron in Prenatal vitamins...however, as you can see below, New Chapter Organic's Perfect Prenatal vitamins contain only %100 of the Daily Recommended Value.
Perfect Prenatal® delivers 23 different easily digested, energizing and protective probiotic vitamins and minerals as well as 13 stress-balancing and free-radical scavenging herbs cultured for maximum effectiveness. So, it's up to you, but all things being equal, I'm sticking with the beauty advice from the woman who kicked both Ben Affleck and Brad Pitt to the curb...plus the added bonus of being prepared to have a super-baby should there be a condom malfunction...and guys, looking at that ingredient list makes me think that Prenatal Vitamins aren't just for women anymore...
The Two Tragedies of the 2006 Emmys...
1. or "I lost to Barry Manilow!"
2. or "There's Been a Terrible Mistake!"
...just joking, I like Tony Shaloub, eventhought I've never seen "Monk," but it is unfortunate that my two of my favourites, Larry David and Steve Carell were overlooked. Perhaps the Emmy voters are just as political as the Oscar voters, or maybe they are just old and prefer the likes of "Monk" and "Manilow" to really funny stuff...go figure...
